About The Event

We believe riding our bikes (or walking) can change the world.

The Ride for Refuge is a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that helps charities raise money for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people around the world.

Since 2004, the RIDE has helped 350+ charities raise more than $10,000,000. The 2016 Ride for Refuge will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 and provides each participant the chance to:

  • Ride up to 50 km/30 miles
  • Walk 5 km/3 miles
  • Fundraise much-needed money for a participating RIDE charity partner. (You must be a member of a team to support a charity - the team captain chooses the charity.)

Routes & Distances

Cycling Routes

You can select the following three distances (Note: some locations may require you to loop the 25 km route twice to achieve 50 km):

  • 10 km/5 miles
  • 25 km/15 miles
  • 50 km/30 miles

Walking Routes

We also offer a short 5 km/3 mile walking route. Where possible, each walk route is on sidewalks.

Fun and Safety

Most sites offer child-friendly routes (where possible) that are well-staffed with volunteers. Along the route, riders and walkers will encounter rest stops, support vehicles, and route marshals to support them. After the event, a delicious lunch is served for all volunteers and participants.
